so... is he pointing her in the direction of destructive pills then? I mean, the only meds I'm familiar with are Advil, Tylenol, and just barely Excedrin lol

...it's called google... *sigh* A placebo is basically a sugar pill, ineffective except for the mindset it can put people in. For example, the placebo effect is when people feel better when only given a placebo medication. Basically, he's steering her away from destructive pills into something that won't actually do anything.
